Seventy eight years ago Kent County’s third park opened to the public, known as Lakeside Park in Caledonia Township and today it consists of 43 acres. Lakeside Park has an incredible view of Emmons Lake from the shelter house, which is a great place for anything from picnics to reunions. The park also has ball diamonds, playgrounds, restrooms, walking/hiking paths and trout fishing.
Caledonia is a flourishing community today and Money Magazine has named it one of the top 100 places to live in the United States and one of the reasons it was given this honor is because of its public schools! Caledonia has a total enrollment of 4,100 within their nine public schools. They also have high levels of parent and community commitment.
